Tongariro River Flow: 21.7(m3/sec)

Weather: Partly cloudy. Light winds.

The good fishing continues, with a steady stream of happy fisherman coming in the door. Talking about the great condition fish they have caught (or lost).

Euro-nymphing, wet lining and indicator nymphing have all been successful. Mostly still on the smaller nymphs and natural flies. Those with less spooky, lighter gear seem to be proving more productive. We recommend 4x (around 6.5IB) but not heavier, so go as light as you can handle.

New staff member Niamh with a great fresh run rainbow caught at the river mouth recently. Caught on a size #6 grey ghost- slowly retrieving on a fast sink line.

Niamh has been fishing in and out of Taupo for the last 3 years. You can come in for a catch up with her Sunday to Thursday. She looks forward to meeting you all.

Guide, Adam with an outstanding brown caught in the Tongariro today. As you can see, the browns are still moving in good numbers through the system. Making for a very enjoyable end to the summer season, before the winter spawning truly kicks off.

The Tauranga-Taupo is providing good numbers, many fish reported up high in the river. This should be picking up even more in the coming weeks.

We have done a big top up on fly tying materials and gear and fishing accessories. So be sure to come in and check it out.

Tight lines everyone.
