Tongariro River Flow: 29.4 m3/sec

Weather: Overcast

The sun made a brief appearance this morning and it seems as if the heavy rain has finished, seeing the weather return to clear blue skies. After having a bit of colour the Tongariro river has cleared nicely and is looking perfect for both wetlining and nymphing. The Tauranga-Taupo has lowered yet remains tea-coloured.

Slushies/globugs have been popular choices this morning while orange beaded buggers have been working well for those wetlining.

Blake is out enjoying the Tongariro this morning with his new Sage R8, and is on the board with some lovely fish caught on the Gummer's Ultra Tactical PT

Whether you are looking to escape the remaining NZ winter months for a tropical destination, or gearing up for the fast-approaching NZ summer we have all the gear and instore expertise to cater for all salty trips, both local and abroad.

While Shop Dad Neil is living a life of luxury working on his tan and chasing bonefish, triggerfish and GTs we are sitting behind the counter and reading up on saltwater lines, checking out flies and looking forward to Neil's return so we can hear all about the phenomenal fishing he is currently experiencing.

It has been a bit of a slow burn this winter, but the fish numbers have built up and the coloured water over the next couple of days is certainly going to help things even further. The quality of fish has been great, and we are shaping up to have a huge amount of both fresh run and recovering fish in the river system as we transition into the spring months.
