Tongariro River Flow: 21.2 (m3/sec).

Weather: Fine, light winds, with scattered rain in the hills.

We welcome aboard Tim Healy,

A new member of our team. Tim was the owner of Grieg's Sports since 2002, just down the road. He was also guiding on the great lake for 8 years.

He has been living in the Turangi area for 23 years, spending most of his days on the boat or surrounding rivers.

Tim is known for his honest fishing reports, almost daily. Giving good information on what's happening. We will be sharing these when we can.

Tim looks forward to seeing you all in store for a catch up.

The fishing recently has been heating up. With reports of many larger, healthy browns being caught up and down the system. I'm still finding the faster water with a Dry fly/Dropper has been doing the most work for me.

Josh Hart (Central North Guiding), one of our local guides are catching good fish on smaller Hare and Coppers, or Green Caddis variants.

The back country has been great, although seeing more traffic than I am normally used to. I am still encountering many larger fish, and lots of very obliging, good condition Brown Trout. Most of them coming up for my cicada patterns. Like the Cat3 Chernobyl, Woomfah or one of Pete Carty's cicada patterns, sold in store.

Boat fishers' are doing well in all forms. People who are jigging are finding lots of success around the 30m mark, using Pat Swift jig rigs, in any variation.

The trollers are doing well on orange or green Tasmanian Devils/ Tobys.

See you all in store, bring in your fish photos.

Cheers!

Hamish, Pete, Tim and Josh.
