Rain Watch for the CNI

Rain Watch for the CNI

Tongariro River Flow: 37.1m3/sec

Weather: Rain

The rain we have been anticipating has finally arrived and raised the rivers, the Tongariro remains fishable at time of writing as the flow continues to drop but keep watch as we may have more rain to come.

Wetlining has been a go-to for those who have popped by the shop this morning, seeing some fat chrome rainbows in the net. Sam was on the river at dawn this morning and swung into some goodies, one which you see in the photo.

We have good stock of wooly buggers in black, olive, and brown so drop by for a top up!

If you're set up for nymphing and want to chuck on a bright slushy/globug/chewball, then today's the day for it. Alternatively, a large/dark nymph with legs will do the trick.

Other than the fishing, it's a good day for a tying session indoors by the fireplace.
