It's an overcast morning in Turangi with very little wind at present. Both carparks by the main road bridge were starting to fill up with vehicles and folks in their waders were getting their coffee and sausage roll fix at the Delta coffee cart. The river looks very fishy this morning and has dropped to 41.3m3/sec overnight so it's looking like a cracking day to be out there.
Tim called into the shop yesterday before heading out for a morning spey session while the river was slightly higher and murky, and swung orange beaded wooly buggers through the depths and into the edges. We have plenty of these buggers in store, available in black and olive. Tim has tied some dark rabbit flies perfect for swinging this winter, day and night - be in quick as Tim's flies don't last long in the shop 😅
Neil has been getting amongst the spey action too 😀
There's plenty of fish about at the moment and now the coloured up models are making more of an appearance and in good condition too!
We now have a dedicated wall space for fly boxes.
