Tongariro River Flow: 29.2m3/sec

The last couple of day there have been mixed reports from anglers some finding nice amounts of fish in the Tongariro river others finding it a bit tricky. We suggest changing your flies often as reports of fish taking natural flies and egg flies in the same pool are common.
I fished the Tongariro a couple days ago in the late afternoon after running errands. I was using Category 3 PTB Carpet Caddis as my bomb and a Category 3 RTB Hare & Copper as my dropper I didn't get much luck fishing the pool, so I thought I'd let one of my last drifts swing into the center of the river and I managed to hook into a nice fresh hen which put up an awesome fight!Â
