This morning the mountains were lined with a fresh dusting of snow and things seem to be cooling down here in Turangi. Many anglers report catching good numbers of fish however the adage, 10% or anglers catch 90% of the fish, seems to hold true. Those anglers willing to do a bit of exploring/ legwork to find where the pods are holding, are having great success. As when you find a couple fish, there will often be more fish close by. Lately I have been having a lot of fun indicator nymphing; there's nothing quite like watching an indicator gently drift downstream, only to be sharply pulled under by a strong, fresh fish.
We have recently done a big restock of globug and booby fly patterns in preparation for winter! These include a large range of Category 3 and Pat Swift patterns that are sure to catch fish and have hooks that will hold strong.
