Over the last week we have seen some amazing fish and plenty of them being caught both on the rivers and in boats on the lake. The Tongariro river is still flowing at a good rate but is very clear currently which has caused a lot of anglers to switch up their current set up of a bright egg to naturals or smaller egg flies. The lake has also had some great reports flowing in from jigging over cliff edges & fishing at the delta has seemed to have picked up a little since the last lot of rain.
Over the last week I have been venturing to new parts of the Tongariro and been having a ball out on the river. Over the last couple of evenings where I would fish after work there have been fish rising over the backs of the pools, so some bugs have obviously been hatching in the warming temperatures.
