Tongariro River Flow: 33.9m3/sec

Weather: Showers throughout the day. šŸŒ§

Rain!! Finally, the forecast was right & we have actually had some nice rain come through overnight to push the Tongariro River flow to 35m3/sec earlier this morning. The Tongariro has started to drop but we do expect another nice lot of early tomorrow morning so hopefully some great fish are making their way up the rivers.

The Tauranga-Taupo River has also risen from its usually low & clear state of 0.2 meters to 0.6 meters which will see some fish moving up through the system. So put on those large egg flies or those big Wooley Buggers & give it a go!Ā

I have also had the last couple of days off & took the opportunity to do some solo missions up the Hinemaiaia River & caught some amazing condition fresh fish! I stuck to one pool & fished it well changing flies every so often but the three flies that most worked for me were the Always Borderline Siren Size 10, Always Borderline Banshee Size 10 & The Category Three Gummers Carpet Caddis PTB in Size 12.

Tight Lines Everyone!!šŸŽ£
