Tongariro River Flow: 27.1m3/sec
Weather: Mostly Sunny
The Tongariro is low and clear again, but the fishing appears to have picked up as we are hearing more reports of good numbers of fresh fish being caught throughout the river. Small globugs/chew ball eggs/natural nymphs and of course the famed olive wooly bugger being the top picks for customers. As for the Delta the heave and leave variants are working and of course the white booby!
Neil and Tarn are most likely out there on the water somewhere! Hopefully a photo or two will be sent though which we will add to the report 😉
Tim and I are in the shop today, so come on in and say gidday! Tim will no doubt be at the vise tying up many of his wooly bugger variants which work a real treat! These never last long on the display rack which some of you will know!
FIREMAPLE COOK SYSTEM X2
The Fire-maple is a staple item in the shop, a great cooking system which is lightweight and compact. It's perfect for those cold yet relaxed days on the river when you've got a hankering for a hot meal or drink! I Quite enjoy heating up a meal while having a break (and giving the fish a break 😝).
If you're heading out into the hills or bush, we have received a top up of Real Meals which are a tasty and nutritious freeze-dried option which we enjoy and doesn't leave us with that heavy feeling in the belly 😖 There are breakfast, dinner, and dessert options which we have instore and online.
